As students in Alvin, Friendswood and Pearland ISDs prepare to head back to school in August, each district has provided resources to help families get ready for the new school year.

Alvin ISD

Pre-K, kindergarten, sixth and ninth grade students’ first day of school is Aug. 11 for transition day, and all other grades will start Aug. 12, according to the district’s website.

Families who are enrolling a new student can learn how to do so here.

Back-to-school registration for returning students who attended AISD during the 2024-25 school year can be accessed through family access accounts, according to the district’s website.


Meet-the-teacher events for elementary campuses are scheduled for Aug. 7 from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for junior high campuses.

Fish, or freshmen, camps for all high schools, including Alvin, Manvel, Shadow Creek and Iowa Colony, are Aug. 11 during transition day.

Friendswood ISD


All students at Friendswood ISD will begin school Aug. 12, according to the district’s website.

New families to FISD can enroll students here, and returning families can enroll students here.

Back-to-school events for the district are on the following dates and times:
  • Aug. 4: Bales Intermediate, meet the new admin from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Aug. 5: Friendswood Junior High School, seventh-grade parent night from 6-7 p.m.
  • Aug. 6: FJHS, sixth-grade parent night from 6-7 p.m.
  • Aug. 11: Meet the teacher for Windsong Elementary and Bales Intermediate
    • Windsong Elementary, kindergarten through second grade, from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
    • Windsong Elementary, third through fifth grade, from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
    • Bales Intermediate, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Pearland ISD
