After operating as a mobile coffee business that popped up at local events, Monarch Pastries & Coffee House is opening a brick-and-mortar storefront in Friendswood.

The gist

Created around the concept of metamorphosis, Monarch Pastries & Coffee House sells coffee, matcha and pastries, according to the establishment’s website.

The coffee house is owned by Dillon and Victoria Seals, who designed it to be more than just a coffee shop and a place for connection, creativity and community.

The details

All coffee served will support local roasters, as the website states that the shop will only buy beans from Houston-based operations. Additionally, all syrups will be made in-house, and hand-made pastries will be sourced from local bakeries.

To celebrate the new space, a grand opening ceremony will be held Oct. 18 with giveaways and a DJ.
