Roman Forest will hold two contested races in the Nov. 4 city council election, City Administrator Scott Castleberry confirmed in an Aug. 22 email.

Meet the candidates

While three council positions will be up for grabs in November, Castleberry said Mayor Chris Parr is running unopposed.

The following candidates have filed to run for Position 2:
  • Incumbent Chris Ellis
  • Linda Stewart
  • David Mullane
The following candidates have filed to run for Position 4:
  • Incumbent Greg Partin
  • Ricky Warwick
Some context

The Roman Forest City Council is made up of five council members and a mayor, according to the city’s website. Both council members and the mayor serve staggered, two-year terms.


According to the city’s website, prospective city council members need to have lived in Texas for at least one year and in Roman Forest for at least six months before filing to run. Mayoral candidates are required to have lived in Roman Forest for at least one year prior to filing.

What’s next

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 4 election is Oct. 6, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website. Early voting will begin on Oct. 20.
