The Roman Forest Events Committee will host a Memorial Day observance at 10 a.m. at Roman Forest Park's Purple Heart Monument, located at 1603 Roman Forest Blvd., Roman Forest. The event will be a ceremonial remembrance for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom, according to information posted on the city's Facebook page.
Following the Memorial Day observance, the Roman Forest Events Committee will also be hosting a Founders Day celebration at noon at Roman Forest Park's Burke Pavilion. According to information posted on the city's Facebook page, the event will include games, a bounce house and vendors. Food will also be available for purchase including a $5 hot dog combo and a $7 hamburger combo. Commemorative 50th anniversary t-shirts will also be available to purchase for $20 each.
