A.V. 'Bull' Sallas Park in New Caney is set to undergo renovations this summer, according to an April 22 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

According to the project filing, the renovations and upgrades are expected to cost $1 million and will include:
  • Demolishing and salvaging existing baseball and football fields for reuse
  • A new asphalt parking lot
  • Furniture concrete pads
  • Concrete sidewalks
  • Football fields
  • Lighting
Work is expected to begin on or after May 10 and wrap up by Sept. 12, according to the filing.

According to the Montgomery County Precinct 4 website, Sallas Park includes the East Montgomery County Senior Center, the East Montgomery County Fair Association building, a rodeo arena, a show barn and a sports complex. The park also features a splash pad, which officials reopened April 1 following a two-year closure and renovation, as previously reported by Community Impact.
