Lone Star College System's Law Enforcement Academy, which is devoted to training future Texas peace officers, will be relocating to LSC-Kingwood in January, according to college officials.

At a glance

LSC’s Law Enforcement Academy is currently housed at LSC-East Aldine Center, which is a satellite campus of LSC-Kingwood, Academy Director Glenn Riddle said via email Sept. 12. In 2026, the Law Enforcement Academy will offer a spring and fall “Basic Peace Officer” course.

“[LSC’s] administration determined the program would be better supported being housed at the main campus rather than a satellite location,” Riddle said.

The context

The Law Enforcement Academy offers a full-time program that takes six months to complete, according to LSC’s website. In the last three years, 182 students have graduated from the academy, Riddle said.
