An assistant principal at Porter High School was selected to serve as the new principal of Woodridge Forest Middle School in the 2025-26 school year, which begins Aug. 6.

The gist

Jeffrey Reece will be Woodridge Forest Middle School's new principal after New Caney ISD's board of trustees approved his promotion during an April 21 meeting. Reece will be replacing Daniel Carr as principal, according to the school's website.

“I look forward to collaborating with our dedicated staff to make Woodridge Forest the premier campus in NCISD,” Reece said via a news release from NCISD. “Together, we will work to build a positive, supportive culture—one where teachers are inspired to teach and students are excited to learn.”

According to the news release, Reece has 19 years of experience in education, including his past positions as a:
  • Teacher and coach in Whitehouse, Texas
  • Teacher and coach at Porter High School
Reece also has a bachelor of arts in business administration, a bachelor of science in education and a master of arts in educational administration, according to the release.
