Veteran- and woman-owned business Patriot Paws Mobile Imaging is now serving Montgomery County and parts of Harris County. The business is owned by Porter residents Katie and Jason Blanco, who are members of the VFW and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.MIMIIS, a Latina-owned jewelry and accessory store, is now open at the business’s first brick-and-mortar location in New Caney. MIMIIS sells jewelry, purses, home decor, teas and beauty supplies.Coming soon

Captain Crab is coming soon to New Caney. The restaurant will offer Cajun seafood including crawfish, snow crab legs, shrimp po’boys and fried seafood baskets.Anniversaries

On Oct. 31, the owners of Gaby’s Event Rentals will celebrate the five-year anniversary since the business first opened. The business offers rentals of inflatables, tables, chairs, yard games, decorative back drops and other event supplies.This year, Humble Area Assistance Ministries marked 35 years of serving those in need across Northeast Harris County and East Montgomery County. The nonprofit offers services within seven program areas, including basic needs, education, employment, senior services, family services, supportive services, and disaster relief and recovery.

food truck is now mobile in the Porter area. In early December, Birria Box opened at The Food Zone 1314, but the truck now stops at multiple locations along FM 1314 in Porter, including at Final Gravity BrewPub, which is located at 23435 FM 1314 B-6, Porter.
