Incumbent Charles Curry defeated challenger Ross Adkins to earn his ninth term on the Humble City Council. He won by about 100 votes in the race for Place 1.

"I'm thankful that I won, and I appreciate the support the citizens gave me," Curry said. "I think Mr. Adkins ran a very good race—he seems very dedicated, and I think he'll be back next year."

Curry garnered 202 votes, which equals 65 percent of the vote, while Adkins has attained 108 votes, according to unofficial voting results from Harris County.

All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Curry said his top three priorities are improving emergency services, road repairs and services for seniors. Curry said he is looking forward to improving the roads within Humble as the city tackles the concrete pavement improvement plan.

"We're looking at different things we need to get going," he said. "Biggest thing is street improvements on the north side of town, he said.

Through early voting results, incumbent Charles 'Andy' Curry leads Ross Adkins in the race for Humble City Council Place 1. Curry garnered 144 early votes, or 67.6 percent, while Adkins received 69 votes, or 32.4 percent, according to unofficial early voting totals.
