Tachus, a high-speed, 100% fiber optic internet provider, is expanding its market in Atascocita, officials announced in a March 15 news release.

The internet provider is available or building infrastructure in Atascocita, Conroe, Kingwood, Oak Ridge North and The Woodlands.

According to Tachus CEO Hal Brumfield, the expansion in Atascocita will include the neighborhoods of Eagle Springs, Princeton Park and Clayton’s Park.

“We are thrilled to expand our network to more homes in the Atascocita area,” Brumfield said in a statement. “This new phase of construction, which is part of a $27.3 million infrastructure buildout that is expected to take roughly 12 to 15 months to complete, will ultimately bring fiber internet to approximately 80,000 Atascocita residents in over 40 neighborhoods and 18,500 homes.”

According to Carter Old, Tachus president and chief financial officer, Tachus differs from many other internet providers because it uses 100% fiber optic cables, which he said will not degrade over time. He also noted the network's infrastructure is built entirely underground, giving it added protection.

Tachus officials noted Atascocita residents can determine whether services will be available in their neighborhood by visiting https://get.tachus.com/s. For more information, call 832-791-1100 or click here.
