Partnership Lake Houston officials appointed Mark Mitchell to serve as the area chamber of commerce and economic development organization’s interim chief economic development officer, according to a July 7 news release.

The details

Mitchell, who previously served as the Partnership’s chief economic development officer from 2017-2021, is bringing more than 28 years of experience in economic development to the position, according to the news release.

PLH President and CEO Ray Hernandez touted the hiring in the news release.

“We’re excited to have Mark back on our team,” Hernandez said. “His experience and leadership will be a great asset to our region’s continued growth, [and] his interim position will ensure that the impactful work on the partnership will continue while we seek a full-time permanent professional in the economic development field.”


A closer look

According to the news release, Mitchell has helped secure over $1 billion in incentives throughout his career and has held leadership roles in government, utilities, consulting and renewable energy.

Additionally, Mitchell serves on several local boards, including the Northeast Hospital Authority and Holy Trinity Episcopal School, the news release states.
