Humble City Council at its April 14 meeting approved the final plat for the first section of Townsen Landing, a new neighborhood that will bring 345 single-family homes and townhome units to the city upon build-out.

City officials said a groundbreaking ceremony for the new neighborhood, one of several nearby communities being developed by Saratoga Homes, is expected to be held within 30-45 days.

Quote of note: “[Saratoga Homes] has the infrastructure in to start going vertical on that first section,” Humble City Manager Jason Stuebe said during the meeting. “They are ready to start selling lots, and [approval of the plat] is the one thing they need to start doing that.”

Project details: Townsen Landing, located off Townsen Boulevard just west of I-69, will feature:
  • 109 single-family homes;
  • 239 townhomes; and
  • Prices ranging from $300,000-$500,000.
Project background: Saratoga Homes purchased about 68 acres on Townsen Boulevard in 2014 to develop the community. Officials said construction on the project was initially projected to begin in 2020, but was ultimately delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officials noted the first phase of development will include 122 townhomes and 54 single-family units spread across roughly 34 acres.
