These six restaurants opened in the Lake Houston area this summer.

Restaurant owners and Louisiana natives Kim and Belinda Williams opened Jambalaya King May 19 at 16430 W. Lake Houston Parkway, Ste. 800, Humble. The 1,670-square-foot counter-service restaurant serves a five-meat jambalaya, chicken and sausage gumbo, red beans and rice, smoked sausage po’boys with Jack Miller’s barbecue sauce, boudin and crawfish in season. Taqueria Las Margaritas Mexican Grill & Cantina opened at 4510 FM 1960 E., Humble. The Mexican restaurant serves an authentic menu that includes ceviche, tacos and grilled seafood. The Lost Cajun Humble opened an Atascocita location in early May at 7042 FM 1960 E., Humble. The restaurant offers authentic local recipes from New Orleans in a family-friendly environment. Salata opened a new location July 13 at 4523 Kingwood Drive, Kingwood. The salad restaurant is based in Houston and has several establishments throughout Texas. Smokehouse Sandwich Co. opened June 3 at 9526 N. Sam Houston Parkway E., Ste. 3113, Humble. The Vancouver, British Columbia-based chain restaurant serves smoked meats, side dishes, sauces and juices that are made in-house from scratch. Austin-based taco chain Torchy’s Tacos opened May 31 at 4529 Kingwood Drive, Ste. 180, Kingwood. The restaurant is at Main Street Kingwood, a 33-acre mixed-use development property at the intersection of Kingwood Drive and West Lake Houston Parkway in Kingwood. The restaurant is known for its Mexican street food-style tacos. Torchy’s also has a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. www.torchystacos.com
