According to the district’s webpage, the meals are being provided at no cost to HISD through the Summer Food Service Program—a U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition program administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture. According to the announcement, families do not have to apply, register or provide identification to participate in the summer meal program.
According to Texas Education Agency data, 20,066 students, or 41.71%, in HISD were considered economically disadvantaged in the 2021-22 school year.
Summer meals will be served at the following campuses at the following times:
- Atascocita High School, 13300 Will Clayton Parkway, Humble: Breakfast will be served from 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. June 6-July 7. Breakfast will be served from 8-8:30 a.m. July 11-21;
- Summer Creek High School, 14000 Weckford Blvd., Houston: Breakfast will be served from 7:30-8 a.m. June 6-30;
- Kingwood Park High School, 4015 Woodland Hills, Kingwood: Breakfast will be served from 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-noon June 6-30;
- Humble Middle School, 11207 Will Clayton Parkway, Humble: Breakfast will be served from 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-noon June 7-July 23;
- West Lake Middle School, 11810 Madera Run Parkway, Humble: Breakfast will be served from 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-noon June 7-23;
- Ross Sterling Middle School, 1131 Wilson Road, Humble: Breakfast will be served from 7-7:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-noon June 6-July 13;
- Timberwood Middle School, 18450 Timber Forest Drive, Humble: Breakfast will be served from 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-noon June 7-23;
- Humble Elementary, 20252 Fieldtree Drive, Humble: Breakfast will be served from 8:30-9 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. June 20-30;
- Jack Fields Elementary, 2505 S. Houston Ave., Humble: Breakfast will be served from 8:45-9:15 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. June 6-30;
- Oak Forest Elementary, 6400 Kingwood Glen Drive, Atascocita: Breakfast will be served from 8:30-9 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. June 6-30;
- North Belt Elementary, 8105 E. N. Belt, Humble: Breakfast will be served from 7:45-8:15 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. June 20-30;
- Ridge Creek Elementary, 15201 Woodland Hills Drive, Humble: Lunch will be served from 10:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m. July 12-14.
