Officials with Sheldon Community Fire & Rescue and master-planned community Generation Park celebrated an Oct. 15 groundbreaking for the fire department’s new fire station, Generation Park officials announced in an Oct. 16 post via Facebook.

The details

According to a July 8 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the $9.3 million project will include the construction of a roughly 14,900-square-foot facility.

The fire station will represent Sheldon Community Fire & Rescue’s fifth station in the area. According to the website, the fire department covers a roughly 60-square-mile area containing around 185,000 residents.


What’s next

While the filing did not include a projected opening date, construction is expected to wrap up in July 2027.
