Three Humble residents who display the most holiday spirit through their decor could win up to $100 and be honored in the local parade if they win this year’s city Christmas Lights contest.

Breaking down the contest

Humble city officials launched the annual Christmas Lights and Decoration Contest for anyone living within Humble’s city limits to enter by Nov. 28, according to the flyer posted on the city’s website. Contestants can decorate their house, yard or business with Christmas decor to enter.

Winners will receive:

• $100 equivalent prize for first place; $75 for second place; and $25 for third place
• Recognition at the city’s Christmas parade
• A plaque from Humble City Council
• A Christmas ornament

What else?

Judging for the contest will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1, per the flyer. The contest contains three categories: commercial/business building, commercial/business windows and private residence/home.

Fun for the family

On Dec. 2, the public is invited to attend the city’s 34th annual Christmas Parade of Lights, which is presented by the Humble Beautification Committee. Themed “Twelve Days of Christmas,” the parade will be held along Main Street in Humble, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
