Editor's note: This story was updated Dec. 17 to include when Corky's Ribs & BBQ opened the Katy-area location.

Corky's Ribs & BBQ, located at 20455 Katy Freeway, Katy, closed Dec. 16 due to a lack of business in the area, owner Bruce Gingrich confirmed. The location opened in February. The menu offered ribs, chicken and pork dishes as well as a variety of sides. The Memphis-based barbecue eatery will continue to offer catering in Katy and will rent out the facility for events, Gingrich said. Texas is left with only one other location, in Cypress, but the chain still has several locations in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas. 281-717-8848. www.barbecuerestaurantkaty.com
