Black Rock Coffee Bar will open a location north of Highland Knolls at the intersection of the Grand Parkway in early 2020, according to a press release from JLL, which represented the brand in lease negotiations.

“We couldn’t be happier to be expanding into the great state of Texas,” Jeremy Brand, Black Rock's vice president of Operations-Texas, said in the release. “We’re excited to become a gathering place, as we establish meaningful connections in our local neighborhoods.”

The Portland-based coffee shop has established 65 locations across the U.S., and the Katy location will be nearly 2,200 square feet. JLL secured another lease for Black Rock in Houston's Weestchase neighborhood at 2620 W. Sam Houston Parkway, Houston. This location is also expected to open in early 2020. 503-358-9896. www.br.coffee
