The city of Katy will paint another water tank.

At its Feb. 24 regular meeting, Katy City Council approved $60,250 in water and sewer reserve funds to paint a mural on the 500,000-gallon water tank at Water Plant No. 7 located at 6801 Franz Road.

It also authorized up to $1,246,391 in 2016 series bonds and water and sewer reserve funds to fund the tank.

Council hired Rolf Goetzinger LLC to paint the mural, which is expected to take 1 1/2 weeks, city Marketing Director Kayce Reina said.

Goetzinger also painted the first two water tanks—located at I-10 and Katy Fort Bend Road as well as Franz Road near the Katy police station—Reina said. The mural on the third water tank will have a similar theme.
