If a live holiday tree was the centerpiece of your decor, here are some ways to dispose of it.

The city of Katy Public Works Department will provide curbside pickup Jan. 7, according to the city’s website. The city asks that all decorations be removed from the tree. Additionally, the tree must be placed on the curb by 8 a.m.

The city of Fulshear will treat Christmas trees as yard waste, so it can be picked up on regular trash days, according to the city’s website. Curbside pickup for the trees will be available so long as smaller trees are placed in sturdy plastic bags and larger trees are cut, bundled and tied. The Fort Bend County Recycling Center in Rosenberg does not accept Christmas trees, according to the county's website. Other locations to drop off holiday trees can be found at the city of Houston website, www.houstontx.gov/solidwaste/tree2019.html.
