Editor's note: This story was updated Feb. 20 to show that another candidates has withdrawn from the May 2 Katy ISD board of trustees election.

On May 2, voters within Katy ISD can cast a vote for board of trustees, who will serve three-year terms upon election.

This year's ballot will have five candidates for three positions on the board, according to the KISD website.

Candidates below are listed in alphabetical order. Interested candidates had until Feb. 14 to file for a position on the ballot.

Residents have until April 2 to register to vote for the May 2 election. Early voting by personal appearance will run from April 20-28.

R.C. Simmons withdrew his candidacy Feb. 19.

Position 4 incumbent and board President Courtney Doyle withdrew her candidacy on Feb. 14. Allen Wortham Jr. withdrew his candidacy on Feb. 18.

Brandy Snyder withdrew her candidacy on Feb. 18.
