A charter school system with local campuses made and donated face shields to first responders in the Katy area.

Harmony School of Innovation-Katy and Harmony Science Academy-Sugar Land gave 50 shields to Christ Clinic and 45 shields to the Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Constable's Office, according to a press release.

Christ Clinic, at 25722 Kingsland Blvd, Ste. 101, Katy, is a nonprofit health care provider that serves low-income, uninsured and underinsured patients. The Precinct 3 constables provide public safety services to residents in the Katy area and Fulshear.

Harmony teachers used the charter schools' 3D printers to build the parts for the medical-grade face shields, per the release. The parts were then assembled to make the shields.

Harmony Public Schools is accepting raw plastic materials and financial donations from the community so that educators and students can make these medical masks. More information is available here.
