An urgent care clinic for pets is expanding its Houston presence with a new location in Katy.

UrgentVet plans to open its 24th clinic Nov. 17 at 6920 E. South Fry Road, Katy, at the intersections of Grand Parkway and South Fry Road, according to an Oct. 31 press release.

UrgentVet provides care for pets with common conditions that require immediate attention but are not serious enough for hospitalization—treating illnesses such as vomiting, diarrhea, limping, itching, coughing, not eating, minor wounds and back pain.

The 2,800-square-foot facility will feature six exam rooms—two for small dogs, two for large dogs and two for cats. The clinic will also have nonslip flooring, dimmable lighting, soothing colors, soft music, calming pheromones and quiet exam lift tables to support a fear-free pet experience.

The central treatment area also includes an in-house laboratory with digital radiography and ultrasound technology. 281-407-9000. www.urgentvet.com
