Following recommendations from a survey of community members, the Lamar Consolidated ISD board of trustees unanimously approved instructional calendars for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years.
In a nutshell
Over 12,000 community members responded to a district-administered survey, where the majority voted on the now-approved calendar options, preferring the earlier start dates and fewer non-consecutive days off, Chief Communications Officer Sonya Cole-Hamilton said.
“Some specific comments [from the survey] were that the schedule benefits staff and students with less random days off and more cluster days together, and the breaks make it easier to give students a time out,” she said.
