The overview
Located in the Marcel Square shopping center, the Fulshear retail store will specialize in a plethora of outdoor products, from grills and barbecuing equipment to other backyard accessories, including furniture.
In addition to various grill styles and smokers, the store will also offer specialty meats, barbecue rubs, sauces and seasonings as well as feature two fully functional kitchens for cooking and grilling classes and demonstrations, Hickey said.
“We call ourselves a true one-stop-shop destination for your backyard or grilling barbecue needs, whether we sell it or build it,” he said.
Hickey started out in residential homebuilding, curating patios and outdoor kitchens with Creekstone Outdoor Living, which he opened in 2009. In 2016, he expanded his business model with a retail store in Spring that doubled as a showroom, Hickey said.
Creekstone Outdoor Living still offers custom design and build services, not only for outdoor kitchens but covered patios, swimming pools, fire pits and other features, Hickey said.
“We're attracted to the [Fulshear] area specifically because of all the future growth, all the new homes that are coming and plus all the existing homes that are out there that need a grill store with grill accessories and specialty products,” he said.
What else
The store will host a grand opening Sept. 14, several weeks after its soft opening. The business is near the entrance to Cross Creek Ranch.
