Fulshear City Council meetings will see a time shift beginning in December.

What’s happening?

At a Nov. 19 meeting, Fulshear City Council approved changing the monthly meeting time to 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday. This came after council member and public concerns over not arriving on time to the meetings due to work commitments and traffic, according to agenda documents.

Council has typically met at 5:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday since April 2023, according to agenda documents.

What else?

Council is also considering adding a standing special meeting to spread out agenda over two meetings.

“Trying to do service to each of the agenda times and actually go through them and consider them in this format—by four hours, it’s a compromise. I need to do my due diligence, I need to do my effort, but I’m tired; my brain is tired,” council member Joel Patterson said.

Council will consider whether to add the second meeting at a future meeting, City Attorney Byron Brown said.

Going forward

The 6 p.m. start time will begin at council’s next meeting on Dec. 17, according to agenda documents.
