Fort Bend County residents are invited to watch demonstrations of online library writing tools.

Fort Bend County Libraries will host six in-person demonstrations across the county to showcase the library’s free online Writers’ Corner tools, officials announced in a Sept. 17 news release.

According to the release, online writing tools include:
  • Pressbooks Public, a self-publishing tool for print-ready and e-book files
  • Indie Author Project, a platform to submit indie-related books
  • BiblioBoard Library, a online library platform with books by self-published authors
The tools were initially launched in March 2022 and are free for all library cardholders.

According to the release, Writers’ Corner tools demonstration sessions include:
  • Nov. 4, 6-7:30 p.m.: Cinco Ranch Branch Library, 2620 Commercial Center Blvd., Katy
  • Nov. 5, 2-3 p.m.: Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd., Missouri City
  • Nov. 25, 6-7 p.m.: Mission Bend Branch Library, 8421 Addicks Clodine Road, Houston
Additionally, the Fulshear Branch Library, located at 6350 GM Library Road, will host three introductory demonstrations from 11 a.m. to noon, including:
  • Nov. 6: BiblioBoard Library
  • Nov. 13: Pressbooks Publics
  • Nov. 20: Indie Author Project
