Editor's note: The story has been updated with the location of the 100 acres.

Lamar CISD has purchased land in Fulshear’s Cross Creek West development for a future multicampus complex.

The gist

The purchased 100 acres will house the district’s new high school, junior high and middle school—with potential for a future elementary school on the site, according to a news release from Cross Creek West. The land is located between Woods Road/Jordan Road and FM 359, south Twinwood Parkway, Cross Creek West officials said.

Cross Creek West is a 1,258-acre master-planned development from Johnson Development located off FM 359, north of Fulshear. The community will feature more than 3,000 homes upon completion, according to the release.

The details

The schools are funded by LCISD’s $1.52 billion bond referendum approved by voters in November 2022, according to the release.

Another LCISD school, Elementary School No. 36, is being built nearby off Jordan Road. The campus is set to open in fall 2025, according to the release.

Quote of note

“The need for new schools goes hand-in-hand with Fulshear’s growth,” said Rob Bamford, senior vice president and general manager of Cross Creek West, in the release. “The school district has an aggressive plan for bringing new schools online, and we are thrilled to be able to support that plan by making land available within our community.”

What’s next

The campuses on the 100 acres are set to open in August 2027 except the potential elementary school, which LCISD hasn’t announced an opening date for, according to the release.
