Pastel Pizza, a Venezuelan fast-casual eatery, will open its second permanent Katy location this spring, co-owner Rosa Revilla said.

Remember this?

Revilla co-owns the business with her husband, Juan Rosales, Community Impact previously reported.

Pastel Pizza sells an Americanized version of traditional Venezuelan street food, called pastelitos, per prior reporting on the business. Pastelitos are puff pastries filled with ground beef, chicken or queso fresco, but the owners use pizza ingredients, such as pepperoni and mozzarella cheese, for some of their products.

The details

While awaiting permitting from Fort Bend County for the new Katy restaurant, Revilla said they have opened a new food truck on FM 529. Though a specific opening date for the brick-and-mortar restaurant has not been determined, Revilla said she anticipates they will be operational by mid-spring.

What else?

With the new Katy restaurant and the closing of a location on Wirt Road in Houston, the couple will have a total of five Pastel Pizza locations, Revilla said.

These include:
  • Katy (food truck): 20155 FM 529, Katy
  • Katy (food truck): 1431 S. Mason Road, Katy
  • Katy: 351 S. Mason Road, Katy
  • Spring: 20444 Kuykendahl Road, Spring
A Pastel Pizza warehouse, where the company will manufacture products for customers to take and make in their own homes, is still in development, Revilla said.
