Mi Pueblito Restaurant will relocate to a new place in Katy.

The details

The authentic Colombian eatery will move its Katy restaurant from 402 W. Grand Parkway S., Ste. 102, Katy, to a new spot on Katy Freeway, Mi Pueblito staff confirmed via social media.

The new Katy-area Mi Pueblito will have multiple terraces, a bar, bakery and the same traditional Colombian dishes, according to a Facebook post on the relocation. It will continue its weekly happy hours and live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

On the menu

Menu items include house specialties such as arroz con pollo and the carne mechada—a broiled, shredded beef dish in a house sauce, served with rice, salad and choice of plantains or a corn patty, according to its website.

Diving in deeper

The restaurant's menu mainly consists of recipes from co-owner Oscar Velasquez and his siblings' grandmother, mother and aunt, Community Impact reported. The name Mi Pueblito—which means “my little town” in Spanish—is intended to foster a sense of community among the growing Latin American population in the Greater Houston area, Velasquez previously said.

Also of note
