Cinco Ranch Branch Library will temporarily close for renovations beginning Jan. 12, library officials announced in a Facebook post.

The library will be closed to replace carpet throughout the entire building, which will require moving all books and shelving, said Sandy Johnson, marketing communications manager for Fort Bend County Libraries. The current carpet is the same one the building opened with over 20 years ago.

The details

From Jan. 9 to reopening, all items requested to be held at the library should be picked up at Fulshear Branch library, per the post. However, Johnson said the library will still be open for early voting and voting, and the book drop will remain open.

What's next?

The carpet replacement is expected to be complete in mid-February and the library still plans to hold AARP tax services upon reopening, Johnson said.
