At an Aug. 5 meeting, Fulshear City Council unanimously appointed Charles Zech of Denton Navarro Rocha Bernal & Zech P.C. as the city’s attorney after an executive session.

Digging in
Zech, whose firm has served as legal counsel since Brown’s departure, has over 20 years of experience representing local government entities and previously served as the city attorney of New Braunfels from 2001-2004, according to the firm’s website. He also served as New Braunfels' deputy city manager from 2004-2006.
Zech is a past president of the Texas City Attorneys Association board of directors and a former board member of the Texas Municipal League board of directors, according to the firm’s website. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Gulf War, earning a Meritorious Unit Accommodation and National Defense Service Medal, among other accolades.
The firm has also provided legal services to the city’s economic development corporations, City Manager Zach Goodlander said.

All attorneys at Denton Navarro Rocha Bernal & Zech P.C. will serve as assistant city attorneys when needed, Goodlander said.
