Why are you running for Fort Bend County judge?
To offer Fort Bend County residents a better choice. I believe my military leadership expertise coupled with my legal background make me the best candidate. This election is not about education but leadership. The county employs experts in the required fields but lacks leadership to effectively/efficiently guide the organization.
What are your qualifications for why you’d be a strong candidate in this role?
I have been in leadership positions since enlisting in the U.S. Army. I have trained large organizations to lead large organizations. I have direct experience in homeland security, emergency services and veterans services. The county judge has direct responsibility over these departments as shown on the county’s organization chart.
If elected, what will be your top priorities?
Bring integrity and transparency back to the county; stop the budget deficits and “right size” the budget; stop casually using eminent domain; review all infrastructure plans; review all homeland security plans; address the veterans service’s deficiencies; address the concerns of animal rights groups.
What should the county's budgeting priorities be?
Immediately stop the budget deficits; identify and eliminate unnecessary expenditures; eliminate the county’s debt as quickly as practicable; ensure the county has the right number of personnel on staff with reductions or transfers as necessary; continue investing in infrastructure (maximize use of state/federal dollars); identify new sources of revenue.
How do you plan to continue preparing for population growth as the county nears one million residents?
Balance the public’s ability to provide necessary services with private development through resource optimization. Review the strategic comprehensive land use plans for meeting the increased demand on water and utilities. Review performance standards to protect health, safety and the environment. Review requirements for zoning changes. Review long term bond requirements.
How do you plan to help grow economic development in the county?
Use a data-driven approach identifying areas with favorable conditions for growth; promote existing tourism and seek out additions; foster innovation; seek commercial operations that diversify the tax base; engage with manufacturing businesses and promote FBC as the best location to establish operations; seek the right commercial/residential tax base ratio.

The county must focus on core services such as law enforcement, infrastructure, flood control and emergency management.
