What residents need to know
The race to replace City Council At-Large representative Kent Pool, who has reached the maximum number of consecutive terms allowed by the city, continues in a June 7 runoff election between Camron Miller and E. Brown Otu. Miller and Otu garnered 49.01% and 19.42% of votes, respectively, in the May 3 election.
Other candidates included Randy Connor with 15.23%, Bonnie Tyler Buell with 12.55%, Corey Jannise with 2.84% and John Bastawrous with 0.95%, according to canvassed results from Fort Bend County.
At the polls
Early voting will run from May 27 to June 3 at the Fulshear Branch Library, located at 6350 FM Library Road, with polls open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. from May 27-30 and June 2-3, according to county's election website. Polls will also open May 31 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. but will close June 1.
When heading to vote, registered voters should bring proper identification options, including a Texas driver’s license, personal identification card, handgun license, military ID card or U.S. passport, according to the Texas Secretary of State website.

In a questionnaire with Community Impact, Miller said he aims to represent all Fulshear residents, with a goal of amplifying underrepresented voices. His top priorities include keeping the city safe and beautiful, and mitigating water-related issues.
Meanwhile, Otu said in his questionnaire that he wants to promote community unity, enhance public and children’s safety, and support business growth. His top priorities include improving infrastructure, emergency response and community engagement.
Miller is a principal geologist, while Otu is a project manager and DJ.

Voters can also cast their ballots on election day from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. June 7 at Fulshear Branch Library, according to the county’s website.
