The family-owned taqueria was started by husband and wife team Joey Figueroa and Luchi Macias in Downtown Houston nearly 26 years ago. The brand has now grown to include the couple’s six kids, who assist with running the register and ensuring the restaurant’s cleanliness, Figueroa said.

Figueroa said the eatery specializes in authentic tacos such as:
- Pulled pork, served with spicy habanero onions and lettuce
- 1810, grilled beef with chorizo and cheese
- Vallarta-Walker, fired fish and coleslaw
- Alambre, meat of choice with grilled onions, mushrooms and bell peppers
