Sylvan Learning of Fulshear celebrated its fifth anniversary of its in-person programming in June by adding college prep services.

The gist

Since opening during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, owner Sudhaker Chhabra said the tutoring center has adapted to meet the evolving academic needs of the local community, expanding services to include college planning and admissions support via a partnership with educational company Class 101 in December. The new services assist high school students in navigating everything from SAT/ACT prep to building standout college applications, he said.

“Fulshear has grown big time in the past five, seven, 10 years,” Chhabra said. “It’s really good that we are able to serve the community and the children in that neighborhood, as well as nearby neighborhoods.”

The center also continues to offer personalized tutoring plans for grades K-12 in all subject areas, according to its website.

The backstory

Originally launching virtually in April 2020 and in person that June, Chhabra said the center has grown to serve around 50 learners from the surrounding area. Located conveniently within the growing residential neighborhood of Cross Creek Ranch, Chhabra said the center has become a hub for local families seeking academic support.

“The best part about this particular center is that it is located right in the heart of a neighborhood,” Chhabra said. “I’ve heard from many parents that it is so conveniently located that we can even have our kids walk to your center.”
