Breaking it down
In August, 71 of 186 homes were sold between $500,000 and $749,999. In September, that number fell to 53 while sales in the $250,000-$499,999 price range rose to 60, outpacing sales in each other price range. The percentage of homes sold in the remaining three price ranges remained largely consistent compared to last month.

Meanwhile, the median price of homes sold in four of the five local ZIP codes is down when comparing data from September 2024 with September 2023. The 77098 ZIP code saw the largest drop with the median price of homes sold going from $781,000 in September 2023 to $487,500 in September 2024.
ZIP code 77006 was the only area to see an increase when comparing the two months with a more than $100,000 difference.On the other hand
The overall number of homes sales dropped in all but one of the five ZIP codes. In the 77019 and 77098 ZIP codes, total sales dropped by 5 and 3, respectively. The decline was more substantial in the 77007 and 77008 ZIP codes.
The 77006 ZIP code was the only one to see an increase with four additional homes sold compared to 2023.In contrast, the homes in 77006 were on the market for 17 more days in September 2024 before being sold when compared to September 2023. Homes in 77008 and 77098 also saw an increase in average days on market, with 77008 seeing a 125% increase.
