The total number of homes sold was lower in four of five local ZIP codes covering the Heights, River Oaks and Montrose areas when comparing July 2023 to July 2022, rising in the 77098 ZIP code, which covers parts of River Oaks and Upper Kirby.

Changes in the median price of homes sold varied across the ZIP codes during the same time period. Prices remained flat in the Heights area while rising in western parts of the market and falling in the 77006 ZIP code, which covers parts of Montrose and Midtown. The median price rose in the 77019 and 77098 ZIP codes.The average number of days a home spends on the market before getting sold followed similar trends to the median price, dropping the 77006 ZIP code when comparing July 2022 and July 2023, while rising in the 77019 and 77098 ZIP codes. The 77007 ZIP code, which covers the Washington corridor and parts of the Heights, saw a large jump as well.
