The nonprofit is dedicated to supporting and enhancing library services for the more than 5 million residents of Harris County and was established to champion the library's mission and secure financial support to expand its services and collections of materials and resources, according to the foundation's website.
"The foundation allows us to grow in ways that traditional funding alone can not,” said Harris County Public Library Executive Director Edward Melton. “By engaging community and corporate partners who share our vision, we can strengthen literacy, expand our collections, and sustain the vital role libraries play in Harris County’s future.”
