The first permanent pickup location for the licensed medical cannabis produced by Texas Original opened June 21 at 1714 Houston Ave., Houston. The shop provides patients with access to a variety of medical cannabis products, including gummies, tinctures and lozenges, according to a June 21 press release.
In a statement, CEO Morris Denton said the new location will allow Texas Original to serve thousands of existing patients in Houston while also qualifying new patients.
“This is a monumental step forward for medical cannabis access in Houston and across the state of Texas," he said. "Reliable and convenient access to medicine is what all patients deserve; we’re proud to deliver on that promise for Houstonians.”
Conditions that can qualify an individual for medicinal cannabis in Texas include cancer, epilepsy and post-traumatic stress disorder, among others.
Company officials said they are evaluating other Texas markets for pickup locations and are also finalizing a new cultivation, processing and dispensing facility in Bastrop, set to open in the second half of 2022.
