Modern Italian chophouse Marmo is set to open April 6 in the Montrose Collective mixed-use development at 888 Westheimer Road, Houston.

The eatery features a 10-seat lounge area with a U-shaped marble bar that seats 19 people, according to an April 1 press release. A grand piano serves as both a central design element as a well as station for local musicians to provide live music nightly and during lunch on weekends.

The 120-seat dining room features tables that are separated by panels of drapery overlooking the Westheimer Road corridor. The venue also features a large, shaded patio, according to the release.

Executive Chef Eli Jackson oversees the food menu, which includes steaks that are all are dry aged and with some varieties hand-cut on-site. Other menu items include hand-rolled pastas, chicken and eggplant parmigiana, and fresh seafood.

A 22-page wine list largely focuses on Italian varietals, according to the press release. The drinks menu also includes local and imported beers, Italian aperitifs and craft cocktails.



The restaurant concept comes from Atlas Restaurant Group, whose other Houston projects include Ouzo Bay and Loch Bar in the River Oaks District.
