A new 38-seat steakhouse concept will debut March 11 inside the new American restaurant Savoir, located at 1344 Yale St., Houston, near the 14th Street intersection.

Named Patton's, the steakhouse comes from Savoir owner Brian Doke, who said in a March 7 press release that he also has a patio cocktail bar in the works across the street set to open this spring.

Patton's will offer prime cuts of meat and cocktails curated by Savoir Executive Chef Eric Johnson, according to the release. In a statement, Doke said the Heights is lacking in traditional steakhouses.

“Houston has always had an affinity for steakhouses, and the city has no shortage of premiere steakhouses,” he said. “However, that doesn’t include The Heights, even though the neighborhood has morphed into one of the most dynamic restaurant scenes in Houston."

Finding the speakeasy-style restaurant will entail going through a wine cellar to find a hidden entrance. Once inside, the 1,500-square-foot dining area features chandeliers and leather banquets. The venue will accommodate 38 guests along with six bar seats and will host live jazz music.

Menu items will include tuna tartare and beef carpaccio along with steak options ranging from ribeye to wagyu to New York strip sourced from Gable Cattle Co. in Colorado.

Meanwhile, the patio cocktail bar being planned across the street will open in the space formerly occupied by Taqo Mexican Kitchen, according to the release.
