Wild Concepts, a Bali-inspired CBD lounge, opened Feb. 21 in the Heights at 2121 N Shepherd Drive, Houston.
Founded by Adyson and Andrew Alvis, the cousins behind Grinders Coffee Bar and CBD Apothecary, Wild Concepts combines hemp-infused products with cocktails and coffee, according to a Feb. 21 press release.
The interior of the bar was inspired by a trip the founders took to Southeast Asia. Andrew Alvis said he and his cousin “wanted to create a place that immediately transforms your emotions into a laid-back and relaxing vibe.”
The space features a “bud bar,” a dispensary with nine CBD strains. According to the release, products include Wild-branded tinctures, gummies and pre-rolls, among others, with different selections designed for pain relief, relaxation and recreational use.
Laurie Harvey and Kris Sowell created the venue's cocktail menu of balanced drinks available with garnishes to give them an “over-the-top” look, according to the release. Cocktails include the Flower Power—made with Fords gin, butterfly pea flower, Italicus bergamot liqueur and lemon—and Pineapple Express, made with Hangar 1 Mandarin vodka, hibiscus, pineapple, ginger and lime.
Wild also offers hemp-infused cocktails, dubbed “elixirs,” as specialty beverages, according to the release. Marfa Days, a house speciality, is made with hibiscus, Topo Chico, citrus, 20 milligrams of full-spectrum CBD gummies, and a house blend of mixed tropical fruits, "electric dust" and sea salt.
The coffee bar features a signature line of roasted coffee beans from Tenfold, a Heights-based company, and pastries from Koffeteria, a local bakery and cafe. The menu ranges from mocha lattes to CBD-infused lattes.
In the future, the owners said they hope to implement educational classes on CBD, according to the release.
