New York City's Van Leeuwen Ice Cream will open a location in this fall in the Montrose Collective development at 888 Westheimer Road, developer Radom Capital has confirmed.
The ice cream shop looks to have three Houston locations joining the 23 locations it has in New York City and Los Angeles. A Rice Village location is slated to open this spring.
“We are so excited to be coming to serve Houston and to integrate into the community. As a small family run business, the decision to expand into a new market was a really big deal for us. What attracted us to Houston was the incredible cultural and culinary diversity and the feeling of progress, growth in modernity the city radiates. The average daily temperature didn’t hurt either,” co-founder Ben Van Leeuwen said in a news release.
The brand started in Brooklyn in 2008 by focusing on homemade ice cream from high-quality, unprocessed ingredients. Their lineup of flavors includes both dairy and nondairy options. Van Leeuwen ice creams can also be found at H-E-B, Sprouts, and Central Market as well as through an online store offering nationwide shipping. https://vanleeuwenicecream.com
