The organizer of the Braeswood Farmers Market is expanding to Montrose.

"The Montrose area—it doesn't get enough love, but we want to show our support for the community and the LGBT community there," said Michael Babajanov, who launched the Meyerland-area market in January.

The Braeswood market was operating Saturdays and Sundays, but with the addition of Montrose on Sundays, the Braeswood market will switch to Saturday only, he said.

Montrose Market Days will be held every Sunday starting at 10 a.m. June 7 at Eagle Houston, a gay bar at 611 Hyde Park Blvd., Houston.

The market will have around 40 vendors, offering fresh produce by Atkinson Farms as well as locally made food and other items. The grand opening will include an appearance by the food truck Cousins Maine Lobster.

"There's nothing better than being outside with your neighbors, enjoying your community, getting off that iPad and being out," Babajanov said.
