The sports-themed restaurant serves steakburgers and is described by owner Matthew Gorman as a "mini hall of fame.”

The overview

The inside of Matty G’s Steakburgers is decorated with old-school sports decor and jerseys from sports such as football and hockey.

Gorman said the establishment is a place where people can come and watch sports, as the restaurant has 16 TVs for customers to view, as previously reported by Community Impact.

"I always say it like this: A grandfather who's not necessarily cool to the grandkids anymore, can see a jersey on the wall and go, 'Oh, I remember when Willie Mays made that catch back in the day,'" Gorman said. "It brings generations together, allows people and families to just kind of have that old school family meal where people aren't texting the whole time."

More details

Gorman said steakburgers are different from regular burgers as the restaurant uses its own blend of meat that is flattened when cooked on a grill, creating a crust for the burger and locking the juices in.

Along with the steakburgers, Matty G’s also serves salads, lobster rolls, hot dogs, wraps, street foods and side baskets like onion rings and fried pickles.

The business has two locations in Idaho and Arizona, and will debut its first Texas location in the Houston Heights. The grand opening will be held Oct. 25.
