Bold, spunky and niche-themed bars opened across Houston this summer, offering custom cocktail menus that can’t be found anywhere else.

It’s 5 o’clock somewhere

The local bars' atmospheres range from light and funky to dim and moody—with unique themes such as goth-tropical and dark-retro—and boast neon lights, tropical plants and custom dioramas. Each offers entertainment such as dart boards, pool tables and live music, as well as unique, specialty cocktails created in-house to reflect the spaces’ strong personalities.
