A popular Korean barbecue restaurant from Houston's Chinatown is opening in the Heights this summer, according to the restaurant's social media.

The details

Handam BBQ's Heights location marks the restaurant's second locale in Houston. The restaurant will be located on 2805 White Oak Drive, the same location occupied by now-closed Korean steakhouse concept Karne.

"After five amazing years in Alief, we're thrilled to announce our new location," Handam BBQ said in an Instagram post.

Handam BBQ opened its doors in 2020, serving all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. Korean BBQ is a style of dining where slices of meats are grilled at the table. Handam BBQ uses smokeless charcoal grills, according to the restaurant's website.

Option A provides meats such as:
  • Ribeye bulgolgi

  • Pork belly

Handam BBQ also serves sushi, free with the all-you-can-eat option B. They serve classic rolls such as the Alaska roll, volcano roll, Philly roll and crunchy roll.
