Acclaimed Texas restaurant group Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group is opening a new concept in Autry Park, according to a June 12 news release.

The background

Emmer & Rye is a culinary group that had restaurants awarded with multiple accolades during Texas' inaugural Michelin Guide:
  • Hestia: A live, fire restaurant in Austin that was awarded a Michelin Star
  • Emmer & Rye: The group's flagship restaurant in Austin that was awarded a Bib Gourmand and Michelin Green Star
  • Ladino: The group's modern Mediterranean grill restaurant in San Antonio’s Pearl District that won a Bib Gourmand
The details

The new concept will be located at Autry Park, the 14-acre urban village at the western gateway of the Allen Parkway corridor near River Oaks.

“We’ve had our eye on Houston—and specifically Autry Park—for quite some time,” said Tavel Bristol-Joseph, partner of Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group. “When the opportunity to take over such a unique space came along, we couldn’t pass it up. Houston has such a vibrant and diverse culinary community, and we look forward to opening our doors and contributing to the city’s incredible culinary landscape.”

The 2,200-square-foot space was previously home to seafood restaurant MF Lobster, which closed on June 10.

“We will miss MF Lobster and its incredible seafood but respect Chris Kinjo’s decision to refocus his business,” said Tristan Simon, managing partner of Rebees, Autry Park’s retail developer. "We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group. They are one of the most exciting independent restaurant groups in Texas today, and their restaurant will notably elevate Autry Park as a culinary destination.”

More details on the new restaurant concept will be announced in late 2025.
