What they offer
Co-owners Rooney Salem and Jorge Cruz created Chapola Coffee in October, a coffee catering business in Houston that provided services to local events. However, after being approached by the owners of The Kennedy, the duo was able to set up their first physical space adjoined to the restaurant, Rooney said.
Dubbed as The Kennedy Coffee Lounge, the shop offers classic options such as espresso, cold brew, lattes and macchiatos, as well as a signature menu with diverse options chosen by Rooney and Cruz.
Signature drinks include a Masala Chai, made with a rich and aromatic blend of organic Indian black tea and spices; the Iced Rose Water & Hibiscus Tea, made with a fresh-brewed blend of rose water and hibiscus; and the Iced Cafe Durazno, a blend of peach and Indian black tea, ginger and shot of espresso.

Rooney said the coffee beans come directly from high-quality farms in Columbia and Brazil and are roasted locally. All beverage items are also made fresh in-house, with no powders, artificial flavors or syrups.
He said all drinks are also made with precise measurements, measured out by the gram to keep a consistence flavor profile for returning customers.
"We want everything we make to be elevated," Rooney said. "We strive for quality and consistency, including our customer service. We focus on three things—quality people, beans and ingredients."
One more thing
The Kennedy Coffee Lounge provides balcony seating and free Wi-Fi. The shop is also anticipated to expand to include fresh, in-house baked goods in the near future.
